weekend wrap-up

happy monday!!!

we have our first full weekend back home in GA under our belt =)

it's so GREAT to be back home.

surrounded by family & friends.

the saying is so true:

'there is NO place like HOME'

friday we were still recuperating from our long week.

we ran a few errands, i went to the gym and spent the evening with my hubby's side of the family =)

{minus a few of them}

saturday we had a birthday party to attend and the boys had a good time.

{i forgot my camera...ugh}

well, i should say elijah had a great time swimming.

john daniel didn't want to get in the water at all.

he fell down a few times and was just a bit out of sorts.

after the party we came home and put lil man down for a nap and he slept over 3 hours =)

that evening hubs and i went to eat @ mellow mushroom and drove by our soon to be new house and talked about all that we want to do to improve it!!!

first up is buy new shutters & paint the front door =)

it will probably be 2 more weeks before we get in it.

sunday...

was a great day!!

we were able to get back to our home church and it was so rejuvenating.

just what we needed.

i can't say enough about our church.

it is HOME.

it is a breath of fresh air.

you can just feel the tangible presence of the Lord there.

it is LIFE =)

there's just something about the presence of God that i can't ever get enough of.

it was very much what we needed =)

after church we had lunch with my parents and some friends.

hubby was eager to get home to watch the FINALS of the World Cup.

we were pulling for NEDERLAND!!!!

it was a well fought game by both teams...congratulations to Spain!!

well played game.

last night we enjoyed a quiet evening at our temporary home =)

i promise to get my camera out and snap some pics of the boys soon!!!!

in the mean time we are catching up with friends and family and gearing up for our family vacation to florida next week =)

woo-hoo!!!!

simplicity of life

i have a confession.

i mentioned in an earlier post how jim and i were going to start watching the t.v. show {the office}. several of my friends have watched it from the beginning and really enjoyed it.

well, we are members of netflix and love it, by the way.

anyways, you can watch movies/shows INSTANTLY via your computer!!

and

i am officially addicted to this show.

in all seriousness -- it is the greatest show!!!

i love the humor, the characters and the downright stupidity of some of them.

we are currently nearing the end of season 3 (yes, this is what we watch at night).

i am just itching for pam and jim to get together!!!

that {kelly} girl can go buh-bye!!

all of that to say......I LOVE THE SHOW!!!

IT MAKES ME LAUGH OUT LOUD

AND

I MIGHT HAVE CRIED FROM LAUGHING SO HARD

AND

EVEN MIGHT HAVE SNORTED A TIME OR TWO!!

when the boys woke up from their naps yesterday we decided since it was 70ish degrees outside we would go for a walk. we walked around main post for probably an hour -- it was gorgeous!!

the leaves have changed colors and are simple breathtaking!!

john daniel spotted every single bird that was flying around.

we would be walking and talking and he would shout "BIRD-BIRD-BIRD"

elijah rode his bike and was in heaven!!!

we had the greatest time :o)

family time is the BEST!!!

mommy, will you hold me?

this precious boy has stolen my heart.

it has been a long time since this vivacious, energetic & fun-loving boy has said ;

'mommy, will you hold me?'

elijah, as rough & tumble as he is, he also is sensitive and compassionate. when he is not feeling so well, the only thing he wants is -- ME :)

all day to today he has been saying that he is cold. i'm thinking -- how the heck can you be cold when it is 90+ degrees outside? anyways, a few hours later he says it again and adds that his arms/legs hurt inside & that his head hurts. hmmm...not quite sure what this could be.

we were out to dinner with some of my girlfriends at a mexican joint (his favorite) so, i knew when he didn't touch his food that something was up. we ended up leaving early.

when we got home i made him a palette on the couch and took his temperature.

lo & behold it was 102 degrees!!!

i gave him some meds and asked him what he wanted.

he said, "mommy, all i want is for you to hold me?"

(tears)

oh, how i love this little man :o)

he has stolen my heart!!!

every night before i go to sleep....i thank the lord for the 'men' in my life.

He has blessed me with the most wonderful husband in the world;

He has blessed me with the two sweetest little men in the world;
