catching up....

i'm feeling a little behind on my blogging.
this post has the chance of being long...who knows.

my last post, hairy situation, i was telling all of you about my GRAY roots and how they had taken over my head. ugh!

finally, last thursday i went and had a 'hair' makeover!!

here is a before shot
{you can't see my roots...but, believe me they were there}

i was nervous about going to someone new after 10+ years with the same person.

however, i love, love, love my new friend. she was very easy to talk to and we all know you want your hair stylist to be a good conversationalist :o)

here is an after shot.

{i realize my hair doesn't look that different...but, at least i can tell a difference and i have NO gray roots} woo hoo!!

yes...i did the same pose -- ha! ha! ha!

my hubby really likes me with my natural color hair!!

it's nice knowing your husband likes your hair -- right ladies?!?!

********************

yesterday, jim's unit had an Awards Ceremony.
jim was awarded the Bronze Star!!

what is the bronze star awarded for you may ask??!!

For heroic or meritorious achievement of service, not involving aerial flight in connection with operations against an opposing armed force.

i took my {camera} because i wanted to at least capture a picture of jim getting pinned. whether or not the quality of the picture was good.

however, right when i snapped the picture....

the camera DIED!!!!

are you kidding me?!?

all i could do was laugh!!

so...i have no pictures of my husband being given his award. boo!!

****************

another thing going on at our house is an attack of the 'asian beetle'
{aka lady bug look-a-like}

I DO NOT LIKE BUGS, RODENTS, SNAKES, ETC.

AND

I DON'T CARE IF THEY WON'T HURT ME!!!

I DON'T DO BUGS!!

NO WAY - NO HOW!!

yesterday, i wanted to go out and sweep our screened in porch.

but,

when i stepped on the porch....

let's just say, if i had a dollar for every asian beetle out there we could retire right now and be set for life!!!

seriously, there was a bazillion of them.

trying to be brave and wanting to sweep my porch, i dug right in.
i gathered quite a few into a pile and wanted to sweep them out the door.
when i opened the door to 'gently' push them out....

they started attacking me!

well, they started flying around and a million (several) landed on me.

i screamed & screamed & screamed!!

YES I KNOW THEY WON'T HURT ME -- I DON'T CARE!!
IF THIS MAKES ME A WIMP...THEN SO BE IT :)

i threw the broom down the steps and ran inside!
yep, i gave up and let the asian beetles win.

oh - oh - oh

when you agitate the asian beetles they put off this horrible smell and they excrete a yellow 'something or other'.

yep. not fun.

i was explaining all of this to jim when he got home a few minutes later and he laughed at me for freaking out over these tiny, harmless bugs.

oh well. what can i say.
if this makes me a priss-pot....
then, i proudly wear that title :o)

i'll be the first to admit that i'm a girlie-girl and proud of it!!

am i the only one afraid of bugs, snakes, spiders, rodents?
{i think not}

You act just like me when it comes to insects!
Snakes are my natural enemy.
I will make a hole through a wall to get away from them...not kidding LadY.
Congrats to your hubby! What a great award to receive. I know what you mean about the batteries...ugh!
Great post!!

BEWARE: When my sis was at Riley she had a bit of a snake issue... More like infestation. Well, she went to open the grill after winter/spring and there was a bit of a nest. Since my soldier, bro-in-law also doesn't "do" snakes they called the MP's. LOL!

I can tell you this was their 2nd house on Riley, and they didn't have a problem in the 1st.

So, WATCH YOUR BACK! ;)

PS: I don't recall the name of their lil' development (with the snakes) I do know that it was the newer BLUE ones. They had a park/BBall hoop and some trees right behind their house. If that helps you with the placement. Hopefully you're accross post! :)

Love your new hair, it looks so very pretty! I am right there with you on the spiders. I swear if I see a spider and can't kill it I will lay awake that night praying for protection against the dang thing crawling all over me when I sleep, ha! Hate them!!
