it seems like just yesterday that little peanut was in my tummy kicking the daylights out my ribs!
john daniel does something new each day. he is laughing out loud when something is funny (usually at elijah). he is crawling everywhere and into everything. unlike elijah, he is putting everything in his mouth!! he can find the tiniest piece of paper or something and in it goes to that little mouth.
one thing i will say is that he is a GREAT eater. actually, both of my boys have always been tremendous eaters. praise the lord for that. he loves to eat ANY fruit, sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, zucchini, rice, peas, oatmeal and on & on.
he is jabbering quite a bit as well. he and elijah get a long for the most part until john daniel crawls on top of what e is playing with...that doesn't sit well with him. {imagine that}
john daniel is an amazing sleeper...he will sleep 12 hours a night and takes 2 - 2 hour naps during the day. i am a firm believer that sleeping is a learned behavior and babies have to learn to put themselves to sleep. both my boys have been sleeping 12 hours a night from about 8 - 12 weeks old. the only downside to john daniel 'knowing' how to go to sleep is that he won't let me rock him for more than a few minutes. he knows when it is time to sleep and he is ready to get in the bed and drift off to sleep. i don't remember the last time he has fussed or woken up in the middle of the night...it has been months (even through teething) :o)
everyday since jim has been gone i show the boys especially john daniel a picture of jim! just so john daniel will recognize him when he comes home for a visit in june!! in our kitchen where john daniel's high chair is there is mine & jim's signature portrait from our wedding. it has become a ritual of me saying 'john daniel where is daddy?" and i'll have to show him where jim is in the picture. a few weeks ago however, john daniel looked up at the picture and said "da-da, da-da"!!!! oh my goodness, my heart just melted. i know without a shadow of doubt that john daniel is going to know jim when he sees him.
each day since he looks at that picture and says, "da-da"!!
oh, how children can make you smile....
the lord has truly blessed jim & i with precious boys.
i am so thankful that i am able to be a stay at home mom and for a husband who wants me to be.

Jenn, you look really fantastic! it's hard to believe how fast time flies...not sure how you do it with your hubby away, but I have no doubt the Lord has graced you for this season! I really like the picture at the top of your blog page. I can't help but remember those times you were single and dreaming of being married and having kids...and here you are! Wow! Ya'll look amazing!
